Does acceleration matter?

Yes it does. Every time you double the machine acceleration you cut the time an distance it takes to get up to speed in half. Here you can see the results on 12ga .080″ mild steel. All Eagle lasers utilize linear motors and polymer granite base structures to deliver the ultra-quick performance. The Eagle iNspire series of machines reach 6g.

Eagle Lasers – Nothing Faster!

Acceleration Explained

As described by Galileo’s equations and this short animation, acceleration of 6g takes 1/3 the time and distance to get up to program speed as 2g. The programmed speed is shown in green, and the 2g machine takes three times more time and three times more distance than 6g.

One “g” is one gravity, which is 32.2 ft/sec².
